Castiel (Misha Collins) will throw caution to the wind and approach a former enemy to offer an alliance in the upcoming episode of the long-running The CW series "Supernatural."

In "Our Little World," Cartermatt reports that the angel will be asking for information on how to defeat the Darkness from Metatron (Curtis Armstrong), one of the villains whom Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) encountered and defeated in the past. Apparently, Metatron is alive all along and living different life different from the past. He is now working as a freelance videographer for the local news.

Amara (Emily Swallow) has demonstrated how potent the Darkness could be. The primordial force is more powerful than anyone can expect, least of all Crowley (Mark Sheppard). He has been struggling to maintain his hold on Amara, but it looks like she is slipping between his fingers. Crowley wanted the Darkness on his side to succeed on his plans, but with the way things are going, it appears that he is in for a major disappointment. If he is not careful, Amara may make mincemeat out of him, just like the demons she eats whenever she is hungry.

The Winchesters have long believed that Metatron has useful information on the Darkness. Back in episode 3, Sam has suggested that they approach the former Scribe of God for help, although he has had some nightmares thinking about it. This time, however, a golden opportunity will arrive. Castiel will be sent to talk with Metatron. Perhaps they are counting on the two's past connection, but they are hoping that he will agree to the plan.

Metatron will surprise them, however, as he will turn down the angel's offer to work together. He is apparently satisfied with how his life is already and has no plans to resurrect the past. Right now, Metatron is their only hope to learn even a little about the Darkness. Will Castiel make him reconsider?

"Supernatural" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
