"Supergirl" fans got an early Christmas treat at the end of November this year as CBS finally picked up season one for a full 20-episode run. The show paused for a winter break after eight episodes last Dec. 14. What can fans expect then when Superman's cousin returns on the small screen this January?

Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) is currently on hiatus as Supergirl as her CBS show is on a holiday break. But her return on Jan. 4, 2016 is sure to be something that all superhero fans are looking forward to. The comeback episode, which is "Supergirl's" ninth episode, will be titled "Blood Bonds."

As if Supergirl does not already have a lot to deal with as her alter ego Kara — what with a crazy boss in Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) plus a love triangle with James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) and Lois Lane's sister Lucy (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) — her life is going to be doubly complicated now that her alien aunt, Astra, is back in her life and wreaking havoc with husband Non (Chris Vance). More so, the crazy boss might be in on Kara's secret identity.

"With Astra in captivity at the DEO, her husband, Non (Chris Vance), captures Hank, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Also, Kara continues to refute Cat's allegations that she is Supergirl," says the CBS official synopsis posted by ComingSoon.net.

As if that's not exciting enough, the network has also released a new promo to excite fans. The 20-second video shows everything that the official synopsis already promised and more. Aside from Astra, Non, and Hank Henshaw a.k.a. Martian Manhunter (David Harewood), the short promo also teased the well-known Superman villain, oyman.

But Henry Czerny, who was cast to play Winslow Schott Sr. a.k.a. Toyman (according to Comicbook.com), might put his own spin to the character. Every Toyman in multiple comic books and even the live-action TV series "Smallville" had varied from one another.

Watch what else "Supergirl" has to offer when season 1 returns on CBS on Jan. 4.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
