"Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings" will be released for both Xbox One and PC in August.

The game will be released for Xbox One on Aug. 14. It will then be released a week later for PC on Aug. 21.

An earlier version of the game, known as "Super Mega Baseball," was released for PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PS4 back in December.

Prospective players who want to pre-order "Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings" for Xbox One can do so beginning Aug. 7. Those who will opt to pre-order the game for Xbox One will be receiving a 15 percent discount, according to the Digital Spy UK.

Unlike other baseball games In the market, "Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings" is perhaps most noticeably different for its lack of actual players. Since the game is not an official Major League Baseball (MLB) title, no licensed players will be appearing in it. Instead, players will have access to 216 different players in the game, and even 24 different umpires, according to Gamezone.

Aside from the lack of familiar names, "Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings" is also notable for its different take on the game itself.

According to a review of the game from Eurogamer, "Super Mega Baseball" plays very much like an honest to goodness baseball simulation but with its mechanics boiled down to simple one-button pushes. The gameplay itself also focuses more on the strategic side of baseball, giving players an experience that is different from licensed MLB games.

"Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings" is expected to play very much like its earlier version. It will also retain the characters who can still level up, as well as the adjustable difficulty levels present in the first version. No online multiplayer will be available for the game, but it will come with four local player co-op.

"Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings" will come with new stadiums and gameplay modes upon release.
