'Star Wars Episode 7' movie plot spoilers and news: Luke Skywalker protecting Sith tomb

John Boyega as a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Very little is known about "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," but just about every week a new rumor pops up. Previously, a report at Stars Wars-centric website Making Star Wars hints at the possibility of Luke Skywalker playing the role of villain. Now a new rumor is spreading.

Making Star Wars is hinting that Rey (Daisy Ridley) is Han Solo and Princess Leia's daughter, and that she is hiding from both the remnants of the Empire and the Republic alike. The site also states that Domhnall Gleeson may be playing Luke Skywalker's son.

The biggest bit of info, however, revolves around Luke Skywalker. According to the site, Luke's old lightsaber  —last seen in "The Empire Strikes Back" before it got chopped off by Darth Vader — is the key to an ancient Sith tomb. The Jedi has gone into exile to protect this very tomb.

Kylo Ren may be in pursuit of this lightsaber and could be on a quest to unlock the Sith tomb and the secrets that it holds.

This all contradicts other rumors being spread. Another report from Making Star Wars indicates that Luke's role in the film isn't as large as people suspect, or that the whole film will be told in flashbacks. Older reports indicate that Luke might be turning into a mechanical Sith like his father.

Director J.J. Abrams is known to keep his secrets close to heart. He has even gone on the record of denying rumors even when they are accurate — just like when he denied Benedict Cumberbatch playing the role of Khan in "Star Trek Into Darkness" which, in the end, turned out to be true.

More information will become available once the next trailer comes out. Speculation thus far is that Disney will release a trailer along with the release of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" this May 1.
