Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag baby news: Couple celebrates eighth wedding anniversary

In her social media post to celebrate their wedding anniversary, Heidi Montag said that their yet-to-be-born baby is the best gift that she could get from her husband Spencer Pratt.

The message was posted on Montag's Instagram account, along with a photo of the two of them during their wedding in April 2009. Pratt, for his part, has also taken to social media to share photos of his pregnant wife.

He talked about how he first found out that his wife was pregnant in an interview with Us Weekly. He said, "The look on her face, I can't even describe it. She was literally glowing. I thought she was about to say she made muffins or banana bread. Heidi said, 'I'm pregnant.' I was like, 'Whoa, that's way more exciting than banana bread.'"

Montag, meanwhile, initially felt overwhelmed about the news, but she has since gotten excited about the concept of motherhood. According to Pratt, his wife is excited to become a parent. He said in the same interview, "Heidi has wanted to be a mom since the day I met her. She has planned for and thought about this." Montag also mentioned that she has wanted a baby for three years, but it was Pratt who was hesitant about having a child because of their obligations. Eventually, the couple agreed to try to get pregnant. They revealed that the baby was conceived within the first month of trying.

The baby is due to come by October 19. Both expressed that they wanted a boy for their first child.

The couple first came in the spotlight in "The Hills," although Montag already appeared on "Laguna Beach." Since then, they appeared in a variety of reality TV shows, including "Celebrity Big Brother," "Celebrity Wife Swap," and "Marriage Boot Camp." The two became controversial at the height of their popularity, feuding with fellow reality star Lauren Conrad.
