The Netflix thriller series "Stranger Things" is one of the most popular series right now, and fans looking to be immersed in the world of the series will soon be getting just that. Sony has announced that a "Stranger Things" experience will be arriving to its virtual reality (VR) platform, PlayStation VR.

The company released a short video showing the iconic Christmas lights scene that fans of the show are familiar with. The lights spell out "PSVR," teasing the title's upcoming arrival to the platform. The description of the video hinted that players will get to experience the scary world of the Upside Down.

Unfortunately, the company has not announced when exactly the new VR title will be released. It may be sooner rather than later, as it has been in development for some time now.

Last year, Netflix released a video where some of the cast members tried out the "Stranger Things" VR experience. Although the video did not reveal what the actors were seeing, their reactions were enough to hint that there is very scary content in the title.

Series breakout star Millie Bobby Brown was so scared that she had to be accompanied by another person while she walked around in her VR headset.

The second season of the popular horror show has been released on Netflix last week, and many fans of the show have already watched the entire season in one sitting.

The series tells the story of the people residing in the fictional small town of Hawkins, Indiana. It follows the adventures of a group of young boys who begin encountering a series of otherworldly events.

In season 2, the town comes under siege by a horrifying extra-dimensional entity, and the kids need to find a way to stop it and save their town.
