PS4 players can now sign up for the closed beta program to test the upcoming "Rocket League" game, the sequel to PlayStation 3's race and smash hit, "Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars." The original game was developed and published in 2008 by Psyonix.

For the sequel's closed beta, interested gamers in Europe and North America can sign up on the company's website. Invited players are on a first-come, first serve basis, and they will test the upcoming game's matchmaking features and server performance. The beta will run daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific, and will end on the early weeks of May.

For the upcoming "Rocket League" title, developers tweaked the gameplay and designs and came up with cool new features. It will now have dedicated gameplay servers for a more focused, online battle royal with smooth gameplay. There would also be a replay editor, where players can experiment with the system and stylize, create, and share their game replays.

In terms of gameplay, the new title will have both offline single player campaign story and online multiplayer plays under the Season mode, and to make the game as realistic as possible, players will experience physics-driven vehicles with chase rockets that are able to launch aerial attacks, passes, and shots.

In terms of items and design, it has new content added over its predecessor. There are new unlockable vehicles, arenas, and almost 150 customization items to make each player's vehicle unique.

To add excitement to the multiplayer mayhem, the new game will also apply splitscreen competition and will have two- to four-player modes on both online and local plays.

The full version of "Rocket League" is expected to arrive sometime in summer for the Playstation 4.
