The third installment in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" game franchise was released just a little over two weeks ago, but fans of developer Scott Cawthon are already scouring the Internet for teasers of a possible "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" title.

Youtuber CyberSurvivor44 speculates that the most recent teaser image on scottgames.com might give a clue on a possible fourth title. The top hat featured on the image is evidently owned by game character Freddy Fazbear. However, its top, pristine condition belies most game images of the bear character whose top hat has always been worn and torn in places, even as far back as the first game.

CyberSurvivor44's conjecture is that the contradiction on the top hat's condition between the previous titles and the teaser image gives a hint on how a possible future "Five Nights at Freddy's" title might look. Specifically, the fourth game may involve a timeline where Freddy Fazbear's top hat is much newer and cleaner. Thus, instead of continuing where the third title leaves off, this might signal a prequel. Most obviously, the gameplay will revolve around what happened before the events in "Freddy's 2."

Another thing which might give insights on a possible "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" is the statement by Phone Guy. In "Five Nights at Freddy's 2," Phone Guy mentioned Freddy Fazbear being in the Fredbear's Family Diner. Allegedly, this diner is the original eatery of the franchise, yet players, even the hardcore fans, haven't seen much of it. Also, fans of the game know that this supposedly original diner was where the very first Purple Guy murder occurred. However, events that lead to the murder were not explained.

This might be the storyline by which "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" might occur.

It is important to note that most alleged information on the fourth game are just rumors, and hardcore fans just build on teaser images and possible scenarios for what could be a fourth title.
