PS Plus free games February 2016 prediction: No AAA titles for the PS4?

 Playstation Europe

It's near the end of the month, and hardcore fans of PlayStation's PS Plus program are again shifting gears for the next round of free games included in the February lineup.

According to BidnessEtc, while no two observers have predicted the same list of games, some followers are in agreement that there are some titles, particularly triple-A games, that they are not expecting to be included in the free games lineup, at least at this early stage.

The industry follower predicted that when the February list of games comes out, Sony will not be including "Knack" and "Killzone" Shadowfall," as well as classics such as "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag" or even the remastered version of "The Last of Us," at least for the PS4 console. The PS3 and PS Vita lineups, meanwhile, might possibly get a triple-A title or two, particularly game releases from indie developers and publishers.

Meanwhile, a rumor about a possible title that will be included in the February lineup was recently debunked. According to Product Reviews, earlier predictions stated that Sony might include "Crypt of the NecroDancer" for the PS Plus free games for next month. However, recent announcements from the game's developers have established that the title will be part of a cross-buy feature for both the PS4 and the PS Vita, debunking the possibility that "Crypt of the NecroDancer" will come as a free game download for either systems as part of the PS Plus program.

The industry follower added that while Sony has yet to come out with the February lineup, fans can expect that the games among the February free games for PS Plus will at least be fan favorites, to give it an edge over its rival, the Xbox console system by Microsoft, which has been steadily increasing its gamer base, particularly for players of classic games, due to its growing backwards-compatible library.
