Pittsburgh Steelers franchise quarterback Ben Roethlisberger admitted last Tuesday that he is nursing an acromioclavicular (AC) joint sprain and torn ligaments in his throwing shoulder.

Roethlisberger suffered the injury in Pittsburgh's Wild Card Playoff game win over the Cincinnati Bengals after getting sacked by Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict.

The veteran passer left the game after the collision but returned in the dying moments of the fourth quarter to help his team seal the win and advance to the second round.

In a report by ESPN, Roethlisberger said in his weekly radio show that his shoulder is "definitely sore" and his status remains to be day-to-day.

"I'll go in tomorrow with the intent to see what I can do. I honestly don't know," Roethlisberger said in the interview.

The 33-year-old quarterback also stated, "I haven't tried to throw a football since the game, and maybe that's not even the right thing to do right away. I'll see the doctors and trainers tomorrow, we'll evaluate kind of how I feel."

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did not voice out any certainty and said there is a possibility Roethlisberger will play versus the Broncos this Sunday.

Aside from Roethlisberger's shoulder woe, another concern for the Steelers is wide receiver Antonio Brown who remains uncertain going through the National Football League's (NFL) concussion protocol program.

Meanwhile for the Broncos, quarterback Brock Osweiler already returned to practice after suffering a knee injury in their season closer versus the San Diego Chargers.

Osweiler will be heading to the playoff game versus the Steelers as a backup, with veteran quarterback Peyton Manning being given the task of starting in the Divisional Playoffs matchup.

Manning is coming off a foot injury that kept him out for six games, but impressed against the Chargers even leading the team to a win that helped them seal the top spot in the American Football Conference (AFC) heading to the postseason.
