The Pittsburgh Steelers found a way to address their issues at the kicker position as they traded for veteran Josh Scobee from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 2016 sixth-round draft pick; the deal was announced Monday.

Scobee spent his entire National Football League (NFL) career with the Jaguars playing 11 seasons with the team.

The 33-year-old football player is the Jaguars' all-time leading scorer with 1,022 points as he succeeded on 235 of 291 field goal attempts.

Last season Scobee played in 16 games scoring 20 field goals out of 26 attempts for 83 points.

The addition of a veteran like Scobee is huge for the Steelers who already lost two kickers to injuries in the 2015 preseason.

Pittsburgh's starting kicker Shaun Suisham is out for the entire 2015 season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in their preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings. Meanwhile, replacement Garrett Hartley sustained a hamstring injury three weeks later when they faced the Buffalo Bills in their most recent preseason game.

Both of those games ended in a loss with the Steelers' only win of the preseason coming against the Green Bay Packers.

The Steelers will be hosting the Carolina Panthers at Heinz Field this Thursday for their last preseason game of 2015. They will then open their season at Gilette Stadium on Sept. 10 facing the defending NFL champions, the New England Patriots.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars are left with kicker Jason Myers following Scobee's trade to the Steelers.

According to ESPN, Myers was signed last March after playing for the Arizona Rattlers and San Jose Sabercats of the Arena Football League (AFL) but he is yet to play in an NFL regular season game.

The Jaguars will try to end their 2015 preseason with a victory when they visit the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field this Thursday.

Jacksonville is set to open the 2015 season hosting the Carolina Panthers at EverBank Field on Sept. 13.
