Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Sam Bradford may be out for some time after sustaining a shoulder injury and a concussion in Sunday's 20–19 loss to the Miami Dolphins at Lincoln Financial Field.
In the third quarter, Dolphins linebacker Chris McCain sacked Bradford, who stayed down for a few seconds before standing up being assisted by his teammates and was favoring his left shoulder.
Bradford left the game completing 19 of 25 passes for 236 yards and one touchdown. He was sacked four times with the last one injuring him.
According to ESPN, the Eagles later announced in the fourth quarter that the 28-year-old quarterback's X-ray results were negative, but it was also revealed last Sunday that he suffered a concussion.
In nine games played and started this season, Bradford has 214 completions for 2,297 yards and 11 touchdowns, also throwing 10 interceptions.
Replacing him in the loss to the Dolphins was quarterback Mark Sanchez, who had 14 completions for 156 yards and one interception.
But Sanchez will now be the temporary starting passer for the Eagles as NFL.com reported that Bradford is expected to miss at least two games because of the injuries he suffered.
Sanchez played his first game of the 2015 season last Sunday against the Dolphins. Sanchez is no stranger to being a starter as he also took on that role last season when former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles went out with a collarbone injury.
This means the Eagles will possibly have Sanchez manning the offense when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home on Nov. 22 and the Detroit Lions in their Thanksgiving Day matchup.
Following those games, Philadelphia will hope that Bradford will be fine by that time as it is set to face the defending champions New England Patriots on Dec. 6 for Week 13 action.
The Eagles are currently third in the National Football Conference (NFC) East with a 4–5 record, tied with the Washington Redskins.
