China-based smartphone maker Oppo has started accepting pre-orders for its new Oppo R7 Plus from U.S. customers.
Interested parties may now place their orders via the Oppostyle online store and they can get the device for $499. According to reports, the device will also be offered with a 10 percent discount using an email promo code.
With Oppo R7 Plus' price, it doesn't meet a lot of competition at the moment. However, it does surpass Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the 5.7-inch variant, when it comes to price as Oppo's is significantly cheaper.
Oppo R7 Plus is a 6-inch phablet with a 1080p Super AMOLED display. It runs on a 64-bit, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 3 GB RAM. It is capable of 32 GB internal storage, which is expandable to up to 128 GB with its microSD slot.
The phablet also carries a 13-megapixel rear shooter, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and fingerprint sensor.
The camera is one of the highlights of the device and it will surely capture the attention of the "selfie" lovers. As noted in The Next Web, Oppo is relying on its camera feature since it claims to deliver sharp photos with the help of the "anti-shake optimization" together with less than three seconds precise focus.
The Next Web was able to try the device and confirmed how fast R7 Plus' camera focus is.
The device runs on the new ColorOS 2.1 based on Android Lollipop 5.1. Customers may avail of the gold variant that is bundled with free Bluetooth headset.
The thickness of Oppo R7 Plus is measured at 7.75 millimeters and it weighs 203 grams. The whole package also comes with a VOOC Rapid Charger, which boasts that with only five minutes of charging, the device will be capable of powering a phone call for two hours.
Shipment of pre-ordered Oppo R7 Plus should be expected by the end of this month.
