The waiting continues for the release of "One Punch Man" season 2.
Just before the airing of the final episode of "One Punch Man" in December 2015, series illustrator Yusuke Murata announced that he was working to make the immediate release of the second season of the anime series possible. But it seems like the premiere of season 2 will not air anytime soon.
Anime Corner reported that even if "One Punch Man" season 2 has been confirmed, it does not mean that it will be released immediately after the first season since there is not enough manga content to support it.
An earlier report from The Bit Bag stated that creating a manga series could take some time, and the same is true with the creation of televised anime. This could explain why news about the second season of "One Punch Man" is scarce at the moment.
The first season of the TV anime adaptation of the superhero manga, written by the author who goes by the pseudonym ONE, started to air on TV Tokyo in Japan on Oct. 5, 2015. Its final episode aired on Dec. 21. It was directed by Shingo Natsume from Madhouse studios.
The series reached the North American market due to the license obtained by Viz Media, while U.K. viewers got to see the anime because of Kaze U.K. It was also streamed by different streaming providers like Hulu and Viz Media's own Neon Alley.
But while the release date of "Once Punch Man" season 2 remains uncertain, fan-made fiction depicting the series' lead character Saitama begins to proliferate.
Some of the fan art works include Saitama's triumph against the combined powers of the "Justice League" and "Avengers" superheroes illustrated by concept artist Lee Woo-chul. Then a fan manga made by a Japanese fan showed Saitama's battle with Vegeta from "Dragon Ball Z." It was first posted on Pixiv then another fan posted its English translation on Anime Lab.
