The duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook was again in full display Tuesday as they led the Oklahoma City Thunder to a dominating 125–88 road victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Durant, the former Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the league, had a solid night recording 32 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and three steals in 31 minutes played.
Westbrook did not have an explosive offensive night but also played impressively, tallying 13 points, five rebounds, 16 assists, and two steals.
Aside from Durant and Westbrook's great night, it was a total team effort for the Thunder in the win.
Starters forward Serge Ibaka and guard Andre Roberson added 17 and 10 points, respectively, to help Oklahoma City.
The reserves also produced last Tuesday and were led by point guard D.J. Agustin who had 13 points, one rebound, three assists, and with one steal, and guard Dion Waiters who listed 12 points, one assist, and one steal.
"When we play together like that, we make the game easier. We were just playing smooth basketball. It was beautiful to watch. It was a fun game to play," Durant said about Oklahoma City's performance, according to the Associated Press.
Because of their dominance, Durant and Westbrook did not need to play in the entire fourth quarter since the Thunder already had control of the game.
In the report by the Associated Press, head coach Billy Donovan had good words for Westbrook following the game and said, "I can't say enough about what Russell did. In my opinion, he's one of the rare guys in this league that can dominate a game without scoring."
The win last Tuesday was the second consecutive for Oklahoma City and also placed it third in the Western Conference with a 13–8 record.
Next on the Thunder's schedule will be a home stand today, Thursday, taking on the currently fourth-best team in the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks (14–9).
