Thomas Rawls, running back for the Seattle Seahawks, suffered from an ankle injury last December and because of this, he did not manage to compete much during the last season. Despite this, a report from Fansided says that he is poised to become the team's next rising superstar in the upcoming NFL season.
The report points out that when he did get to play last year he showcased a high level of dynamic capabilities while also being able to garner a 5.6 yards per rush average despite the fact that the Seahawks were experiencing issues on the offensive line last season. These details only prove that Rawls has the potential to do even more amazing things if he can play more.
Speaking to ESPN, Rawls confirmed that he is working to ensure that he gets the chance to prove his worth and has been undergoing rehab training during the off season. This will not just improve his gameplay but also ensure he does not suffer the same injury again. He also confirmed that he is ready for the team's training camp.
"Rehab is going phenomenal," Rawls explained. "Running, cutting, working hard, getting back out there. I'm looking forward to being out there the first week. Rehab has been going phenomenal this whole offseason. I don't have a break because I've gotta work 10 times harder. So I'm excited to come back and fill that void in that backfield."
According to Pro Football Rumors, team head coach Pete Carroll confirmed that Rawls would be in perfect shape and full health by the time the regular NFL season began. Carroll did explain that the team did hire additional players to help Rawls with his duties and that Rawls would be eased back into his role with training camp and pre-season contests.
The NFL season begins this coming September.
