Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers will try to stay unbeaten in the 2015 National Football League (NFL) regular season when they host the Kansas City Chiefs for Monday Night Football today, Sept. 28, at Lambeau Field.
The Packers are coming off a huge morale boosting victory over rivals Seattle Seahawks, who defeated them last season in the National Football Conference (NFC) championship game.
Rodgers led the Packers in that Week 2 game completing 25 of 33 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns.
The Packers' win over the Seahawks came after their season opener victory over the Chicago Bears.
Reigning NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) Rodgers is expected to lead Green Bay when they play against the Chiefs and will be assisted on offense by the team's leading wide receiver Randall Cobb.
Cobb has emerged as the main receiver for the Packers with Jordy Nelson out for the season due to injury.
ESPN reported that Cobb is nursing a shoulder injury but practiced with the team and is expected to play against the Chiefs.
In two games this season, the 25-year-old wide receiver has posted 13 receptions for 154 yards and one touchdown.
Other injured offensive players running back Eddie Lacy and wide receiver Davante Adams, who both have ankle injuries, are listed as "probable" for the game facing Kansas City, according to ESPN.
But the report added that strong safety Morgan Burnett is ruled out for the game with a calf injury.
The Chiefs, on the other hand, are trying to bounce back after a tough loss to division rivals the Denver Broncos.
Kansas City had a seven-point lead entering the last minute of the game, but Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning led his team as they scored two touchdowns in 36 seconds to complete a comeback performance.
The Chiefs would have been entering Monday's game unbeaten had they managed to hold on to the lead.
Now, they aim to get back on the winning track and will be led by quarterback Alex Smith who has 38 completions for 434 yards and three touchdowns.
Another player the Packers' defense will be focusing on is Kansas City's leading rusher running back Jamaal Charles.
Charles has 37 carries for 182 yards and one touchdown in two games played this 2015 season.
Monday Night Football between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs will start at 8:30 p.m. EST.
