New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman performed well in their Divisional Playoffs win over the Kansas City Chiefs last Saturday and is already anticipating their conference championship game, not worrying about any injuries.

The matchup with the Chiefs was Edelman's first game back from a foot injury that sidelined him for the last seven games of the 2015 National Football League (NFL) regular season.

Against Kansas City, Edelman was targeted the most by franchise quarterback Tom Brady and he had 10 catches for 100 yards.

However, in a report by ESPN, Edelman headed to the X-ray room following their win over the Chiefs.

But it is likely that there is no significant concern since he stated, "Everyone's sore. I finished the game and feel good enough to get ready to prepare for next week."

Edelman also said he did not need X-rays after the game and it is uncertain if he had one, since he mentioned that players were not allowed to discuss injuries.

As of now, it is highly expected that the 29-year-old wide receiver will play in the American Football Conference (AFC) Championship Game versus the Denver Broncos this Sunday.

The Patriots will try to defend their conference championship on the road against Denver, a team that handed them their first loss in the regular season.

An impressive feat for the Broncos during that game, they defeated the defending Super Bowl champions without their franchise quarterback Peyton Manning.

The AFC Championship Game will be held at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver since the Broncos ended as the top team in the conference, with the Pats coming in at second place.

New England is hoping that this season's conference championship game will not be with controversy.

Last season, the Patriots were involved in an issue which was termed as the "Deflategate" scandal.
