The entire team is worried about Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) in the upcoming episode of the CBS procedural drama "NCIS."

In "Personal Day," Cartermatt reports that when an old friend of Gibbs asks the NCIS for help in a cold case, Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) is concerned that their connection may hinder the team from fully investigating what transpired. The younger operative will reportedly come across information that links his superior and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agent Luis Mitchell (John Gabriel) on a personal level.

TV Guide reveals that the two shares a tragic past that binds them together. They have been reportedly working on the current case regarding drug running since before and the trail just keeps getting cold.

Perhaps Gibbs and Mitchell see this as their personal responsibility to solve, and they will do everything to succeed in unlocking the mystery. Their inability to stay detached from the case can ruin the entire investigation and DiNozzo is fully aware of it.

After everything that he has been through, Gibbs' condition certainly gives the team some disquiet. He has changed so much after recovering from his near-death experience, not only emotionally but physically as well.

The NCIS department cannot help but gossip about his new fashion sense, starting with his change of look. From standard military haircut and polo shirt, Gibbs is now sporting a modern cut and tailored dress shirt.

Last episode, Gibbs came out of surgery, fully healed due to Dr. Cyril Taft's (guest star Jon Cryer) capable hands. Mere months later, he was back at work but restricted to administrative duty by Vance (Rocky Carroll).

This did not sit well with Gibbs, especially after knowing that DiNozzo and Teague (Mimi Rogers) were in the field, tracking down Budd's (Giles Matthey) trail to Shanghai.

He became doubly irritated when DiNozzo failed to fully update him about the investigation, as the latter was in a hurry. When Gibbs decided to go out and find an incarcerated Calling member, he rammed a pen into the terrorist's hand. Vance was not pleased with his man.

In Shanghai, DiNozzo and Teague found Luke (Daniel Zolghadri), the boy who shot Gibbs, and informed him that the agent was alive.

Visibly relieved, he reached out to Gibbs through Skype, where the older man convinced him to divulge where Budd was hiding. Luke helped out and the next thing the viewers saw was a confrontation between Gibbs and the Calling leader in an alley.

"NCIS" season 13 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
