The team will discover a deadly conspiracy between the Navy and the CIA in the upcoming episode of the CBS procedural series "NCIS: New Orleans."
In "Shadow Unit," Rotten Tomatoes reports that a new case will lead the New Orleans squad to unlocking the dark secret. A blogger known for exposing corruption in the government is murdered. Upon embarking on an investigation, the team learned that it is somehow connected to a joint humanitarian mission between the Navy and the CIA in Bolivia.
While the operation looks legit, the NCIS nevertheless smells something is going on behind the smokescreen laid out by the authorities. Could both the organization be involved in the murder of a single individual? What does the victim know that made dangerous people want to silence him forever?
Meanwhile, the premiere episode of the series featured the guest appearance of Grammy-winning local musician Dr. John. Creator Gary Glasberg told TV Guide that this was one of their plans to make season 2 "a fun one," and that viewers should expect more unexpected surprises in the future.
For instance, Pride (Scott Bakula) will reportedly purchase a bar from the money he got in the sale of his house. This will act as "as a new hangout for the NCIS crew," where some live music will entertain not only the characters but the audience as well.
As for some plot spoilers in the new installment, the exec teased that much change will be happening to Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan). Not only will her hair be longer, but the agent will reportedly become "a little sassier and a little sexier" this season.
"She is a little more comfortable in her own skin. Maybe just working with the boys has loosened her up a little bit, because LaSalle is so playful so he's bringing that side out in her. I think Brody is just getting more comfortable in this new office, in this new city, with her life," said McLellan.
McLellan also revealed that her character will be quite busy with the male species this time around. Brody will be meeting a new suitor around episode 4, who will leave her "smitten." Her ex-fiancé James (Luke Mably) will also return and there are rumors that a reunion may be in the works. As for Brody's connection with co-worker LaSalle (Lucas Black), the actress admitted that the two will remain colleagues for now.
"NCIS: New Orleans" airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
