Deacon (Charles Esten) continues to be consumed by guilt because of his sister's current health condition in the next episode of "Nashville" season 4. The episode is titled "How Can I Help You Say Goodbye."

According to the official synopsis for the episode, "A second aneurysm is going to leave Beverly (Dana Wheeler-Nicholson) brain dead and Deacon consumed with guilt while Scarlett (Clare Bowen) is forced to decide whether or not to keep Beverly on life support. Meanwhile, Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) will continue a destructive pattern of erratic behavior, pushing Avery (Layla Grant) to make the heart-wrenching decision to file for divorce."

ABC recently released the trailer for the upcoming episode, which shows a highly dramatic scene between Deacon and Scarlett as they discuss Beverly's fate. The doctors are asking Beverly's family to decide if she would remain in life support after suffering from another aneurysm. Deacon wants to keep his sister alive because she helped save his life when she agreed to donate part of her liver, but Scarlett contemplates pulling the plug because she does not want to see her mother suffer further.

Meanwhile, Juliette seems to be having the time of her life as her career continues to take off. However, her constant erratic behavior could cost her more than her stardom. In the trailer, Avery seems to have had enough of Juliette's antics. This has made him think of filing for divorce. Will Juliette realize that she is slowly losing her husband and newborn child because of her ambition?

The trailer also shows a heartbreaking conversation between Teddy (Eric Close) and his children Maddie (Lennon Stella) and Daphne (Maisy Stella) while he is behind bars.. Daphne still cannot accept the fact that her father is a criminal, but Teddy instructs Maddie to stop protecting him by lying to her younger sister about the truth.

"Nashville" season 4 episode 3 airs on Wednesday, Oct. 7, on ABC.
