The rumor mill churns nonstop when it comes to speculations about upcoming releases, and now it's none other than the Motorola Droid Maxx 2 that is the focus of the latest rumblings.

The rumors also appear to be popping up with good reason as the Motorola Droid Maxx 2 is expected to become available not too long from now.

According to Geek Snack, Motorola's newest release should be formally announced right around the last week of October, on Oct. 23 to be exact. The phone should be launched alongside the Motorola Droid Turbo 2.

Both phones are expected to be officially launched as part of a rumored event that Motorola is planning, although the company has yet to confirm any special occasion.

Still, with a supposed release date nearing, it would be wise to learn more about the Droid Maxx 2, although it shouldn't be too hard for folks to get a handle on what it will be like when it does officially arrive.

According to NDTV, the Droid Maxx 2 is in essence simply Verizon's version of the Moto X Play, although it's unclear just how much of a resemblance the two will have.

As folks might remember, the Moto X Play features a 5.5-inch full HD display along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. As luck would have it, those are the same specs being rumored for the Droid Maxx 2 as well.

The Droid Maxx 2 is also believed to have 2 GB of RAM along with 32 GB of internal storage available to its users. The internal storage can be expanded as well.

Other notable features that the Droid Maxx 2 is rumored to have include a 21-megapixel rear camera, ideal for high-quality photos, and also one up front that shoots at five megapixels.

One more reason to possibly look into purchasing the Droid Maxx 2 is that it is expected to have the Android Marshmallow operating system right from day one.
