Moto X Play launch soon in India

The Moto X Play is on its way to India, and it's getting there very soon.

Over the weekend, Motorola teased fans with a new image seemingly showing the Moto X Play. The company also said that the new phone was just right "around the corner."

Although Motorola did ultimately hold off on revealing the exact release date of the new phone, another source has stepped in to give people a more concrete timeline.

According to Phone Arena, the online retailer Flipkart has launched a curious looking countdown timer on their web site that is seemingly hinting at the arrival of the Moto X Play. Just above the timer, people can see the words "your perfect partner will be here in," with the clock itself located underneath. The words "perfect partner" were the same ones used by Motorola for their teaser over the weekend.

If Flipkart's timer is indeed referring to the official launch of the Moto X Play, then that would mean that the new phone will be coming out on Sept. 14.

As for what people can expect from the new phone, it will reportedly feature a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor that will be paired up with 2 GB of RAM, according to NDTV.

The Moto X Play is also expected to have a few variants in terms of internal storage sizes ranging from 16 GB all the way up to 128 GB, although a micro SD card will be needed for that.

The new phone will be sporting a 21-megapixel camera at the back, with one up front offering 5-megapixels.

Upon release, the Moto X Play will also have a 5.5-inch display made more durable with Gorilla Glass 3. It is also expected to run the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system when it is eventually released.

Motorola has yet to announce the official price of the Moto X Play for India.
