Just last month, the Moto Droid Turbo was introduced and released. In the same month, the Nexus 6 was announced and its rollout is now on the horizon. Easily, these handsets will be the hottest, and they will probably be two of the most neatly-specced Android phones in the market. This undoubtedly leads to a feature face-off.
The Droid Turbo comes with a metal outer shell reinforced with Kevlar and a Ballistic Nylon, which makes it look unique. The Nexus 6 has a plastic back and a metal frame. The former is slimmer with its 8.3 mm body while the latter measures 10.1 mm, which looks somewhat hulking.
The Nexus 6 is bordering on a tablet and a phone as far as size is concerned. It boasts a 5.96-inch AMOLED display, delivering 1440 x 2560 pixels and a 493 ppi pixel density. The Motorola handset sports a 5.2-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, rendering the same pixel resolution as its rival but paired with a 565 ppi pixel density. Clearly, the home of the richer details is the Droid Turbo. But it all depends on the need. If Nexus 6's large phablet size is more appealing, users can go for it and still enjoy ultra sharp visuals.
Both phones are powered by the same processor, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, which clocks in at 2.7 GHz. They also have 3 GB of RAM inside, complemented with either 32 GB or 64 GB storage capacities. Android Authority has admired the excellent performance of the Motorola phone, attributing it to the "best processing package" loaded inside it. The Nexus 6 is expected to keep up with it as well, despite the bigger size the processor has to power up.
Imaging capabilities are a big deal for these phones' respective makers. The Nexus 6 was given a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Moto Droid almost doubles that with its 21-megapixel shooter. Moreover, both phones have 2-megapixel front-facing cams. Both the phones have dual LED flash.
The most impressive aspect about these phones though will have to be the battery life. The Nexus 6 guarantees a whole day of usage, which is pretty stretched. Even so, Moto Droid Turbo intends to outlive its rival, as it promises 48 hours of usage. On top of that imposing life span, Motorola also made sure that its new-fangled handset is integrated with fast charging technology, wherein in half an hour, the Droid Turbo can juice up up to 60 percent.
As per GSM Arena, the Moto Droid Turbo is splash resistant while the Nexus 6 is water resistant. This makes the latter much more durable. Then Nexus 6 also comes with dual front-facing speakers, an ingredient for a perfect movie experience in the phablet.
Lastly, the price tags. It is very important to note that the Moto Droid Turbo is exclusive to Verizon, and customers of the largest carrier in the U.S. can get the handset with a 2-year contract for $200. It is also now in store shelves with a $600 price tag. The Nexus 6, on the other hand, is priced at $650 and is due to roll out this month.
