Microsoft will be having a special event in New York this Oct. 6, and is widely believed the event will showcase the first batch of Windows 10 Mobile devices which may possibly include the Lumia 950, 950 XL, and 550.

Aside from these devices, the Surface Pro 4 and the Microsoft Band could likewise be making their debut.

It should be noted, however, that while these devices could be officially unveiled, they are not expected to go on sale until November.

While the devices are expected to be revealed, there is a question in the air regarding the operating system (OS) that they would use. Will they be running on the recently revealed Windows 10 Mobile or still on the previous operating system (OS) Windows Phone 8.1 OS?

Of course, it would make sense to see these new slew of devices coming out with Windows 10 Mobile, but the thought of possibly seeing these devices not yet running perfectly on the latest OS does come into mind.

To date, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, believed to be the first premium phone that Microsoft has to offer for quite some time, seem to have been making its way through leaks online lately.

Based on the leaked images and rumors, the said smartphones will feature triple-LED flash modules and come with optional dual-SIM features. Word has it that this option will only be launched in India, according to Gadgets 360.

As far as specs are concerned, the Lumia 950 will boast of a 5.2-inch QHD display, powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Lumia 950 XL will don a 5.7-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 810 chipset, and 3 GB of RAM.

Both devices will reportedly have a 21-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.

A third phone in the Lumia 550, a budget phone running on Windows 10 Mobile, could also make an appearance.
