L'Wren Scott dead: Mick Jagger's girlfriend commits suicide

Mick Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott has been found dead in Manhattan on Monday, March 17, 2014.

Scott, who was a fashion designer and model, was reportedly found hanged to death in an apparent suicide in her apartment at 200 11<sup>th Ave. today.

The 47-year-old's body was found by her assistant at 10 a.m. this morning at her residence.

The model is said to have texted her assistant at 8.30 a.m. this morning, asking her to come over. However, when the assistant arrived, she found her hanging by a scar on a door knob.

Police do not suspect foul play and the official cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office today.

She did not leave a suicide note but updated her Twitter account shortly before her death.

Mick Jagger is said to be "completely shocked and devastated" by the news of his girlfriend's death.

Scott and Jagger have been dating since 2001.

Scott was raised by adoptive parents in Utah and began her career as a model in Paris. She became a fashion designer after moving to Los Angeles and recently collaborated with Banana Republic.
