The top two clubs in Group B of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League will collide at Old Trafford today, Wednesday, as Manchester United host PSV Eindhoven.

Manchester United and PSV have some history since when they last met in the Champions League two months ago, United defender Luke Shaw suffered a horrible right leg injury that ended his season.

Shaw sustained the injury following a tackle by PSV defender Héctor Moreno during their match.

The 20-year-old was performing very well for the Red Devils that is why the injury was a huge setback for him and the club.

"For me and for us he is a very important player. I said in advance that he would be the revelation of this season and he was on his way to doing that," Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal said about Shaw, according to BBC Sport.

Because of what happened the last time they took on PSV, Van Gaal said he gave Shaw a time off, according to reports.

"Firstly, he was fed up with the daily routine. And secondly, I thought why he is fed up, maybe it is because of the PSV match and every player has to watch the game from the stadium to support their colleagues," the United manager explained.

Meanwhile, BBC Sport also reported that despite Manchester United captain and star Wayne Rooney being fit to play against PSV, it does not automatically mean that he is starting in today's game.

The Red Devils are currently leading Group B with seven points in four games, a Wednesday win will punch them a ticket to the next round of the Champions League.

Meanwhile, PSV are just behind United with six points and will try to derail the plans of Manchester United of advancing further in the competition.

The club from the Netherlands is aiming to have a repeat of their first match with the Red Devils and again walk away with a victory.

But in a report by ESPN, PSV manager Phillip Cocu is hoping that Moreno will not be booed by the fans when they play at Old Trafford and is wishing Shaw a speedy recovery.

The Champions League match between Manchester United and PSV Eindhoven will be today, Nov. 25, at 3:45 p.m. ET. To watch via live stream, click here.
