Two thriving clubs on top of the English Premier League (EPL) table will collide when Manchester United pay Arsenal a visit this Sunday at Emirates Stadium.

The Red Devils are sitting on the number one spot in the table having 16 points with a 5–1–1 record.

United's only loss so far this season was suffered against Swansea City who defeated the club 2–1.

After the defeat, United bounced back in the EPL, winning their next three matches against Liverpool (3–1), Southampton (3–2), and Sunderland (3–0).

Along with the streak in the EPL, the Red Devils have also won in their last four matches in all competitions.

In a report by BBC Sport, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal spoke about their tough schedule playing six games in 18 days.

According to him, the key will be recovery and that gives them a hard time preparing for their match against Arsenal.

Van Gaal added, "You want to prepare on the pitch, but you cannot do it because the players need freshness. So then the other solution is to change your squad. So we have to see how the evaluation is of my fatigue specialist."

A win over the Gunners would give United 19 points and help them hold on longer for the top spot in the league table.

If the Red Devils are winning in their previous matches, Arsenal are struggling to find consistency, although they have won in their last EPL match facing Leicester City (5–2).

But the Gunners are coming off a loss in the Champions League as they were ousted by Greek club Olympiakos (3–2).

One of the biggest factors that led to the defeat, according to reports, was Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger's decision to start David Ospina instead of Petr Cech at the goalkeeper position.

Ospina had a key mistake which led to their loss to Olympiakos, but Wenger already defended his decision, also saying, according to BBC Sport, that they could have still won the game.

In the EPL, Arsenal are sitting on the fourth spot with 13 points tied with West Ham United.

The match between Manchester United and Arsenal will be held on Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
