"Mafia 3" will be allowing players to take on the role of a more nuanced lead character in the person of Lincoln Clay.

Clay is a Vietnam veteran, and also an African-American in the turbulent era of the USA in the 1960s. The story of "Mafia 3" focuses on Clay's life after his tour of duty in Vietnam. After returning home from a bitterly fought war, Clay is yet again thrust into another dangerous world, this time, one belonging to the black mob, according to Gamespot.

Along the way, Clay's allies are taken away from him, and the once orphaned kid finds himself alone again as an adult.

The game picks up from this point, as Clay begins to claim vengeance on those who have wronged him.

With a new group of people around him, Clay embarks on a vigilante's journey, as he attempts to exact revenge on the Italian Mob that has made his life unbearable in 1960s New Orleans.

Given the background of the game's main character and the era in which "Mafia 3" is set in, players can expect the game to touch on the sensitive topics of racism and life for minorities in the 1960s.

Aside from providing players with a seemingly complex storyline, "Mafia 3" will also allow players to explore different ways to complete certain objectives.

In addition, "Mafia 3" will also emphasize the elements of stealth combat in its gameplay, allowing players to move with greater ease as long as they stay in the covers.

As of now, more specific details about the gameplay and other features of "Mafia 3" have yet to be revealed.

Players will also have to wait until 2016 for "Mafia 3" to be released, according to Polygon. No exact date for the game's release has been provided.

"Mafia 3" will be available on the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and the Xbox One.
