In "Madam Secretary" season 3 episode 20 titled "Extraordinary Hazard," Jay Whitman (Sebastian Arcelus) will be kidnapped by a group of terrorists while on a fact-finding mission in Nice, France, and U.S. Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) is getting blamed for it.

A promotional video for the upcoming episode has been released. It shows Dalton (Keith Carradine) and his companions interrogating Elizabeth about Jay's abduction, since it was she who sent him on the mission. Although she's willing to do whatever it takes to get Jason back, any hopes of finding her policy adviser start to disappear as it is made clear that the United States will not do any negotiations with the terrorists. As seen on the video, Jay is losing hope of being rescued, telling his captor that he is "not that important."

With this problem, along with one of the officials pointing a finger at Elizabeth for putting one of her men in danger, she seems to be nearing a mental breakdown as she is extremely confused about what to do. The video ends with Elizabeth calling her husband, Henry (Tim Daly), telling him about her guilt of putting Jay on harm's way.

Will Jay be able to come out of this alive?

Meanwhile, Henry is said to be suspecting that the doomsday cult is planning to attack Israel, according to the synopsis for episode 20. However, since he was already cut off from the case, he might not be able to share this with the government. And while he and Elizabeth are facing a lot of stress, their son, Jason (Evan Roe), does not seem to be affected. In the upcoming episode, he is going to trick his parents into giving him money for an expensive calculator when, in fact, he is only going to use this to impress a girl.

"Madam Secretary" season 3 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
