Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors 2015: Nick Young, Ryan Kelly heading to Bucks for bigger cap space?

The Los Angeles Lakers are rebuilding and to boost the process they need a bigger cap space which they can use in the 2016 free agency. To do this, they can resort to trading and two players that may leave soon are veteran guard Nick Young and forward Ryan Kelly.

Los Angeles will no doubt miss the playoffs for the third consecutive season as they are last in the Western Conference with a 3–21 record.

As franchise superstar Kobe Bryant also plans to retire after the 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season, the Lakers may start making roster moves and trade deals are not a bad idea.

First possible trade piece is Young, who is seeing less playing time this season because of the Lakers prioritizing younger guards Jordan Clarkson and D'Angelo Russell.

Clarkson and Russell are seen as future faces of the franchise that is why Young's minutes diminished.

In 21 games played this season, Young has averaged 9.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 19.9 minutes of action per outing. These figures are much less that what he recorded in his first two seasons with the Lakers franchise which he joined in 2013.

Meanwhile, Kelly is also another potential trade piece for Los Angeles if ever the team decides to push through with a deal.

Kelly was drafted in the second round in 2013 by the Lakers and since being part of the organization seems to have not found his role yet.

This season, the 24-year-old forward has played in only eight games and is averaging 3.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 12.8 minutes played per contest.

In a report by Yibada.com, a proposed deal is for the Lakers to trade Young and Kelly to the Milwaukee Bucks and get another veteran in O.J. Mayo and center Miles Plumlee.

This season, Mayo is not playing the same number of games he had in the past few seasons but is averaging 10.4 points a game.

The 28-year-old player was known to be a scorer in his time with the Memphis Grizzlies and despite not being as explosive as before, can still pour it on in any given night.

Plumlee, on the other hand, is a young journeyman who is having a hard time finding playing minutes but is still a quality big man who can provide minutes off the bench.
