Earlier this month, South Korean giant LG Electronics unveiled the new successor to its LG G Pad tablet. So far, the LG G Pad 2 8.0 is anticipated to be launched in the South Korean market. Recently, LG unveiled a larger model called the LG G Pad 2 10.1, which comes with a 10.1-inch display screen and a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution (WUXGA), according to GSM Arena.
According to the LG News Room website, LG is now preparing to announce the LG G Pad 10.1 tablet during the IFA 2015 event in Berlin, Germany. The report adds that there will be two different versions available; one of them will support LTE, while the other will support Wi-Fi connectivity.
In terms of the design, the LG G Pad 2 10.1 will sport a thin design with a metal finish. In terms of the specifications and features, the new tablet is expected to run on the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version operating system (OS). It will have a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Under the hood, it will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2 GB of RAM and an expandable 16 GB built-in memory storage. In addition, the LG G Pad 2 10.1 will be powered by a massive 7,400 mAh battery, which will keep users entertained for hours on end, according to the company.
In a press release, LG Vice President and Head of Marketing Communications Chris Yie said, "The LG G Pad II 10.1 was developed in response to consumers' feedback and optimized for multimedia consumption."
"Customers asked for a large display, bigger battery and faster performance all without raising the price. The G Pad II delivers on all counts." Yie added.
As of this time, the LG G Pad 2 10.1 tablet is expected to be released in Asia, Europe, and North America. GSM Arena reports that LG plans to release more details at the IFA 2015 event, regarding the tablet's price and availability.
