Rumors have been going around recently that singer Katy Perry, who broke up with Orlando Bloom in February, is now dating actor Ryan Philippe. However, those rumors have just been squashed by the two people involved in the issue.
It all started when the two personalities were spotted chatting, albeit briefly, at Elton John's birthday party last month. Observers were quick to assume that the interaction between the two hinted a romantic connection. According to Independent, in an attempt to find out if Perry and Philippe were linked romantically, paparazzi then started harassing the "Shooter" actor after they were seen together.
Having had enough of the badgering, Philippe took to Twitter to announce that he is not dating the "Roar" singer. He even complained about helicopters hovering above his house, waiting for Perry to appear in the area. In a tweet, he said, "I am not dating Katy Perry. Barely know her. Please stop flying helicopters over my house. She is not here. Thx. [sic]"
Perry found out about the tweet and apologized to the actor for being dragged into the commotion, saying, "Hi, nice to meet you, sorry bout that @RyanPhillippe carry on, lol. [sic]"
Some fans even joined in the conversation and one of them said, "I wish people thought I was dating Katy Perry." To this, Philippe responded, "@Jhoff10 don't mind "people" thinking that. don't want low flying pervs hovering periodically. [sic]"
Just like the singer, Philippe has also recently gotten out of a relationship. He was reported to have broken up with his ex-fiancée Paulina Slagter last November, after a five-year relationship.
In other news, Perry is set to perform at this year's Flastonbury Festival, a five-day gathering taking place in Pilton, United Kingdom this June 21–25.
