'Jessica Jones' season 2 spoilers: Jessica has to confront Kilgrave aftermath and PTSD

Jessica Jones Netflix

Netflix and Marvel TV have been silent regarding the development and production for "Jessica Jones" season 2 and it is speculated that this is mostly due to the attention being given to "Luke Cage," "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders." Back in May, however, actress Krysten Ritter did give fans a few hints of what's to come.

According to Ritter, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jessica (Ritter) will be dealing with the aftermath of her decision to kill Kilgrave (David Tennant) and the amount of post-traumatic stress that comes with it. With Kilgrave gone, Jessica broke her own rule and will now have to live a life where her main goal no longer exists.

"Kilgrave was her reason for getting up at 3 o'clock in the afternoon," the actress explained. "She spends most of the show trying to get him into prison. She doesn't want to kill him, but that becomes her only choice. I don't think all that trauma and PTSD goes away now that she kills him."

"Jessica Jones," like the two seasons of "Daredevil," continue to prove that a dark and grittier side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can succeed and fans are looking forward to the upcoming second season. This hype has continued to grow now that the studios have released the official soundtrack for "Jessica Jones" season 1.

It was previously reported that Jessica's step-sister, Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) may be getting more of her backstory explored and may even start exploring her superhero side. In the original Marvel Comics, Walker is known as Patsy Walker and is a costumed superhero who later joins the Defenders and the Avengers.

No official release date has yet been announced. While the character of Jessica Jones will appear in "Luke Cage" and "The Defenders," the second season of "Jessica Jones" may not premiere until 2018 as there are at least three other Netflix Marvel shows that will release first.
