Linsanity will be in Buzz City for the 2015–16 season when point guard Jeremy Lin starts playing for his new team, the Charlotte Hornets, where he is seen as a backup to starter Kemba Walker.
Playing with the Los Angeles Lakers last season, Lin was also not a starter so there would be no need to adjust for his future role in Charlotte.
The 27-year-old point guard played in 75 games, including 30 starts for the Lakers in the 2014–15 season where he averaged 11.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
The former Harvard Crimson inked a two-year deal with Charlotte in the offseason and is one of the most significant additions to the team.
Lin is a true facilitator in the court and in his time with the New York Knicks, where Linsanity began, he showed that he can also shoot and score.
Unfortunately, he was unable to do that in his stints with the Houston Rockets and the Lakers, but he is given a new opportunity in Charlotte.
If Lin can return to his old form like when he was still with New York, it would be huge for the Hornets as he can help take some minutes off Walker's playing time and might even get the starting nod later in the season.
Walker has been the starter for the Hornets in the past three seasons and is very consistent with his numbers.
Last season, the 25-year-old player was averaging 17.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per contest.
The combination of Walker and Lin in the Hornets' backcourt screams youth and mobility for the team's offense.
Along with Lin, the Hornets also added veterans Nicolas Batum and Spencer Hawes and 2009 first-round pick Tyler Hansbrough. They also selected Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky III in the first round of this year's draft.
The Hornets hope the deeper roster will help them reach the playoffs after missing it last season when they finished with a 33–49 record.
