Rogelio will finally meet his nemesis Britney Spears in "Jane the Virgin" season 2. The CW

Rogelio dela Vega (Jaime Camil) will meet his match in Britney Spears when the CW series "Jane the Virgin" returns for its second season.

Unreality TV reports that the pop star princess will be playing herself in the hit show and that fans could expect her to appear in the fifth episode, which is expect to air in mid-November. Show creator Jennie Snyder Urman announced the big news in a press release, stating they were thrilled to say that Spears has agreed to act as Rogelio's nemesis.

"After hearing about their longstanding feud (from Rogelio's point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears' side of the story, which we assume is quite different," he said.

Speculations that the songstress would be appearing as a guest star in the show started when CW network president Mark Pedowitz hinted of her involvement during the channel's Television Critics Association session. He said that when they became aware that "Jane the Virgin" is one of Spear's preferred shows, CW immediately decided to offer her a guest role.

Spears recently took to social media to express her excitement on being part of the series. She wrote that guest starring in one of her "favorite shows ever" is a dream come true, telling her fans and followers "See you at the Marbella Hotel soon!"

Meanwhile, Gina Rodriguez, who plays the lead role of Jane Villanueva, also could not contain her elation that "the first pop star she ever knew existed" will be part of her show. She told PEOPLE that she was "so freaking stoked" that her childhood idol is going to be one of her co-stars.

Rodriguez said, "I just want to do the dance from 'Baby One More Time' with her on set and record it! I want to do that so badly!"

The actress is also hopeful that Spears would bring her own brand of music to "Jane the Virgin" season 2, which will air on Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. EST on CW.
