Jamaica will host Panama as both nations begin the next round of the 2018 Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) World Cup qualifiers this Friday at Independence Park.

The Reggae Boyz and La Marea Roja ended their last meeting with a scoreless draw with both national squads doing well in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup held last July.

In the Gold Cup, Jamaica was in Group B with Costa Rica, El Salvador, and one of the host nations Canada, finishing on top with two wins in three matches.

The Reggae Boyz are also the only squad to win a game in Group B during the group stage.

In the quarterfinals for the Gold Cup, Jamaice defeated Haiti 1-0, then scored a 2-1 upset against the United States in the semifinals, but was unable to top Mexico in the championship game losing 3-1.

Meanwhile, Panama was in Group A with host nation United States, Haiti, and Honduras.

La Marea Roja was unable to capture a win in the group stage of the Gold Cup but three draws were enough for the squad to make it to the knockout stage.

In the quarterfinals, Panama defeated Trinidad and Tobago on penalties to take on eventual champion Mexico in the semifinals where they lost in overtime.

Jamaica and Panama are in Group B in the fourth round of the 2018 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying  with Costa Rica and Haiti.

Both squads are looking to win Friday since they are coming off losses in their recent friendly matches, Jamaica suffered a 3-0 defeat to Korea Republic while Panama had a 1-0 setback facing Gold Cup winner Mexico.

The fourth round matchup between the Reggae Boyz and La Marea Roja will take place this Friday, November 13 at 9:00 p.m. EST and to watch via live stream, click here.
