Sixteen contestants remain in the running for Season 6 of "Ink Master," and the competition is about to heat up some more. According to Cartermatt, the artists will be tackling the creepy task of doing "The Kraken."
In Episode 6, the tattooists will be copying the legendary sea monster of large proportions that is said to be found off the coasts of Norway and Greenland. The preview already shows nice pieces coming out of the challenge, but as expected, some had a hard time depicting the notoriously difficult subject.
Miami Burgess will be seen "struggling a bit" with his canvas. The artist from Carollton, Georgia was a fan favorite on the start of the show, but he has already lost two challenges in the competition. Miami will have to convince his troublesome canvas to meet him halfway and let them do his best in the given amount of time, or he could be onn the chopping board for the next elimination.
Last episode, the masters were again pitted with their apprentices in creating a tattoo using the same theme of American tradition. They had five hours to produce their masterpiece and wow the judges, led by Richard Stell. The winner will get the advantage of choosing their canvas in the next competition.
In a moment of poor judgment, Matt 'MV' Valles chose to go up against the team-up of Katie McGowan and Matt O'Baugh, two artists who specialize in the given theme. Meanwhile, Craig Foster had difficulty grasping the challenge, perhaps because of its new school vibe, the International Business Times reported.
After being judged on legibility, the three artists deemed to perform poorly in the task were Kito Talbert, Ryan Hadley and Earl Noble. For their second chance, the contestants had to do another American traditional tattoo, as well as an Eagle design created by Stell.
Kito's tattoo was strong, but Stell did not like how he shaded the feathers. Meanwhile, Earl passed with flying colors. Ryan had some great highlights, but the judge felt uncomfortable with the dots he included on the neck of the eagle. The fact that the tattooist from Indiana could not take criticism did not also bode well with the judges, and he ultimately got eliminated.
"Ink Master" airs at 10 p.m. Tuesday on Spike.
