The Indiana Pacers shrugged off a tough loss from the Cleveland Cavaliers to get back on the winning column at home last Monday, defeating the young Orlando Magic, 97–84.
Leading the way was franchise star Paul George who is playing splendidly this season after missing the majority of the 2014–15 season due to a horrible injury.
Against the Magic, George exploded for 27 points that included 19 in the first quarter which is a personal career-high.
Along with his scoring game, the 25-year-old basketball star also had four rebounds, seven assists, and one steal, also leading Indiana in minutes played with 36.
"I feel great skill wise. I feel like I've had a whole year to work on my game," George said, according to the Associated Press.
Helping him was point guard George Hill who also had an impressive offensive game tallying 23 points, with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block.
Forward Myles Turner also contributed 10 points and four rebounds to lead the Pacers' reserves.
The win improved the Pacers' record to 4–4 and returned them to .500 which is good enough to place them seventh in the Eastern Conference standings.
In a recent statement, George had a message for the Cavs who defeated them before their win over Orlando.
ESPN's Dave McMenamin tweeted George's statement which said, "I think we match up well against this team. This team doesn't really scare us."
The two-time All-Star played well in their game against Cleveland and tallied 32 points in a losing effort.
George also had the chance to add another chapter in his epic matchup with Cavs star LeBron James who is his most notable rival.
The rivalry between George and James began when the latter was still playing for the Miami Heat and met the Pacers twice in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Now, the Pacers will continue their 2015–16 campaign at the TD Garden today, Wednesday, taking on the Boston Celtics for the second time this season.
