The new video teaser by Huawei, which is in Chinese, doesn't show many details about the upcoming smartphone except for its design.

The move comes after the Chinese company's recent release of the new Huawei P8 lite smartphone device in the U.S., as part of its efforts to expand into the U.S. market.

The recently released P8 lite smartphone is a high end quality device, according to Huawei, that costs only US$249.99 and is now available in the U.S. via the company's official online store including Amazon.

A new image was also revealed by the Chinese telecom giant, which shows the new handset will be unveiled this coming June 30. Earlier rumors suggested the new Huawei Honor 7 smartphone will be released sometime by the third quarter of this year.

The new image that includes invitations to the event launch also confirms earlier rumors that the new Huawei Honor 7 handset will come with a fingerprint scanner.

The Huawei Honor 7 is expected to sport a 5 inch IPS LCD display screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The new handset is expected to run on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, powered by the company's own HiSilicon Kirin 935 processor.

It will offer users 3 GB and 4 GB worth of RAM, and 16 GB and 64 GB of internal memory space. It will come with a sharp 13 mega pixel rear camera and will be powered by a big non-removable 3280 mAh battery.

The Huawei Honor 7 is expected to be available in black, white and gold colors, according to earlier reports, and will come with a metal body.

The release date, along with the price and other details, for the new Huawei Honor 7 smartphone is expected to be announced at the June 30th launch event.
