The IFA 2015 event is scheduled to take place on September 4 until September 9. According to a recent report by Softpedia, Huawei might plan to launch the upcoming Mate 8 smartphone by next year instead; however, this hasn't been confirmed yet by the Chinese company.

Recently, a new video was also launched revealing the Huawei Mate 8 smartphone along with its fingerprint scanning feature and metal build. In comparison with its predecessor, the Mate 8 is expected to sport the same large 6 inch display screen but with a higher 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The Ascend Mate 7 has a 1080 x 1920 resolution with a 368 ppi pixel density.

Also, the Ascend Mate 7 has a 13 mega pixel camera on the back and a 5 mega pixel front-facing camera. The Mate 8 is rumored to come with a sharper 20.7 mega pixel camera on the back and an upgraded 8 mega pixel camera on the front. Since the Ascend Mate 7 was launched last year, it came with the old Android KitKat (OS) operating system pre-installed. The Mate 8 is now rumored to run on the new Android Lollipop version OS, according to GSM Arena.

Like the Ascend Mate 7, the Mate 8 is expected to be available in two models. Both models will be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 950 quad core processors. One model will offer 3GB RAM and up to 32GB built-in memory, while the other model will offer a 4GB RAM and a larger 64GB memory.

The Ascend Mate 7 offers 2GB RAM/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB memory storage. As of this time, it's still unclear how big the new phone's battery will be. On the other hand, the Ascend Mate 7 comes with a massive non-removable 4100 mAh battery.
