HTC One A9 release date, specs news: Aero coming Oct. 20

A new device is set to come out this Oct. 20, and the alleged device is widely believed to be the HTC One A9 Aero. Such speculation came after invites were sent out by HTC last month for the event, which will be held in New York City.

The new device seems to indicate that HTC will veer away from the usual One M-Series and start a whole new line in the A-Series.

Now, the next question is on what niche the phone will be made for. Is it high-end? Midrange?

The answer to that may lie in the specs it will offer. For now, the only things known about the One A9 are a 5-inch (1920x1080) HD resolution display, 2 GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel main camera, and a 2,150 mAh battery all clad in a metal build. It will also include support for 4G+ and the usual other features like WiFi, Bluetooth, global positioning system (GPS) and assisted GPS (AGPS) support.

With regards to the processor that could be used, it seems to be a toss-up possibly between a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor or a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset. With regards to the operating system (OS), it remains to be seen if the device will already be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow or the old Android 5.0/5.1 Lollipop OS.

Depending on how techie you are, the specs aren't necessarily something that a high-end phone would have but then again, these are all unconfirmed for now. The processor is the one that could change, so it would be best to keep an open mind for now.

How about pricing?

Well, according to WinFuture, the One A9 will retail for about €599.90 or about $688 dollars, which somehow places the device between midrange to high-end. But then again, these are European prices, so there is a chance that its price could vary in the United States or other regions.
