'How to Get Away with Murder' season 3 premiere date, spoilers: Wallace's death and Michaela's past to be explored

 ABC

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will need to focus primarilly on the latest death on the show, particularly the sudden assassination of Wallace Mahoney (Adam Arkin). As stated in a report from Entertainment Weekly, producer Pete Nowalk revealed that the season will delve more into the events that took place.

According to Nowalk, there is a very high chance that Frank (Charlie Weber) is responsible for gunning down Wallace due to the fact that Frank had attempted to kill Annalise (Viola Davis). However, this has yet to be proven and there could be other factors at play but Nowalk points out that the Frank is the primary suspect at the time being.

"From what we saw, Frank was finding out that Wallace was Wes's (Alfred Enoch) father in the finale. Once Laurel (Karla Souza) told him, I think it was information he was getting in that moment. Say what you will why he would do that, but I think that definitely would make sense," Nowalk explained.

Nowalk further explains that Wes is going to be severely affected by Wallace's death, given that he had just learned the latter was his biological factor when Wallace was shot. However, Nowalk explains that Wes may process the information differently and may even be happy that his father is gone.

Season 3 will focus not only on Annalise, Wallace, Frank and Wes, however. The rest of the Keating Five will get a few moments of spotlight and it is revealed that Michaela's (Aja Naomi King) backstory and future love life will be decided in season 3.

Michaela has always been the one seeking Annalise's favor the most and more of her story is going to be told in the upcoming season, likely setting the tone for what she may do before the show is over.

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will premiere this fall.
