Former All-Star and Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard looks to don the national colors again as he is reportedly to attending USA Basketball's (USAB) minicamp in Las Vegas next month.

Howard has been part of the U.S. national squads that competed in the 2006 FIBA World Championship (bronze medal), 2007 FIBA Americas Championship (gold medal), and the 2008 Beijing Olympics (gold medal).

The 29-year-old center was unable to join the national team that competed in the 2012 London Olympics because he went through a back surgery.

But now, he is again ready to represent the United States for the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics, confirming his attendance at the minicamp to USAB officials, according to ESPN.

Attendance is mandatory for players who are looking to be part of the selection pool for the 12-man roster that will be sent to Rio, according to USAB managing director Jerry Colangelo.

Howard will be joining teammate guard James Harden who will also be attending the minicamp.

It is almost certain that Howard will be one of the big men who will have a strong impact during the two-day minicamp and will likely make the cut for the Olympic roster.

Howard still one of the most efficient centers in the NBA despite his numbers going down in the past few seasons.

He helped Houston reach the Western Conference Finals last season but they were eliminated by eventual champions the Golden State Warriors.

The eight-time All-Star will be joining the likes of Sacramento Kings' DeMarcus Cousins, Detroit Pistons' Andre Drummond, Cleveland Cavaliers' Kevin Love, and Portland Trail Blazers' Mason Plumlee, as these big men are also planning to attend the minicamp.

Team USA will head to the 2016 Rio Olympics looking for their third consecutive gold medal finish in the event after bagging home the top prize in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics.
