'Halo 5' news: Upcoming 'Infinity's Armory' update adding new features

"Halo 5" is set to receive a new update before the month of January draws to a close, and fans can reportedly look forward to a variety of additions coming via the content drop.

First off, "Infinity's Armory" will be adding two new remix maps to the game, with those being Riptide and Urban.

Riptide is based on the Fathom arena map that is already available in the game, although the new addition is expected to feature some tweaks that will make it look and feel significantly different.

The other new map is known as Urban. Urban is based on the Battle of Noctus map, and this new addition has also been reimagined in a way that makes it play differently from the location it was based on. Urban also features a more open battlefield, and with the new map also featuring a night time setting, players can expect shadows to be factors in gameplay, according to The Inquisitr.

Aside from the new maps, "Infinity's Armory" will also be adding a new feature to "Halo 5's" forge mode.

The new forge mode feature, known as forge prefabs, will make it easier for players to save and then subsequently share some of the structures they have created inside the game.

The new feature has been termed as a "potential game changer" by "Halo 5" user-generated content (UGC) design lead Tom French, as seen on the game's official website.

With forge prefabs now being added to the equation, the hope is that the "Halo 5" community will soon be able to create and share their structures more efficiently with other players.

"Infinity's Armory" will also be adding the new Achilles armor set to "Halo 5." There will also be additional weapons added to "Halo 5" via the upcoming update.

"Infinity's Armory" is expected to be rolled out for "Halo 5" sometime before the end of January.
