Green Bay Packers news: Aaron Rodgers believes the pressure is on Cardinals in upcoming playoff game

The Green Bay Packers face a familiar foe in the Arizona Cardinals this Saturday in the National Football Conference (NFC) divisional playoff game, and franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers thinks the pressure is not on them.

Green Bay, which is one of the teams that had a great start to the 2015 regular season, was dominated by the Cardinals in Week 16, 38–8.

During that game, Rodgers was sacked by Arizona's defense eight times, the most for him in any outing this season.

Rodgers finished the regular season being sacked 46 times, one of the leaders in the National Football League (NFL), but remained healthy to help the Packers top the Washington Redskins in the Wild Card Playoffs.

Despite the last meeting Green Bay had with the Cardinals, Rodgers believes their opponents this coming Saturday are the ones pressured for the upcoming playoff matchup.

"Well, the pressure's all going to be on them," Rodgers said last Wednesday, according to ESPN

"They're coming off a tough loss at home against Seattle. Before that they blew us out. They're the Super Bowl favorites, and obviously the favorite team on Saturday night, so we've just got to go out, be loose, let it all hang out, because the pressure's all on that side," the 32-year-old quarterback continued.

Rodgers said they are the underdogs heading to the game which will be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium, but still the pressure is on the Cardinals.

Last season, the Packers reached the Conference Championship but fell to the Seattle Seahawks, who ended as runner-ups to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, in a report by the Toronto Sun, the Cardinals gave an answer to Rodgers' statement about pressure and head coach Bruce Arians had the greatest of response.

"There is no pressure. Expectations, (yes). Pressure? Like I said the other day, pressure is something when you're not prepared for something. We have high expectations," Arians stated.

The NFC divisional playoff game between the Packers and Cardinals will take place this Saturday, Jan. 16.
