In their first 10 games, defending champions the Golden State Warriors cruised to the win, but it was different last Saturday when they needed to outlast the Brooklyn Nets in overtime 107–99 to capture their 11th victory and remain unbeaten.
The Nets, who have been struggling this season, competed with Golden State and were even ahead by three points with under 10 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
But the 2014 Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) Andre Iguodala stepped up and drained a three-pointer to send the game to overtime where they outscored the Nets 10–2 to seal the win.
Again leading the Dubs was Stephen Curry who had 34 points, three rebounds, six assists, and one steal.
Curry also had a milestone in their game against Brooklyn as he surpassed his father, Dell Curry (1,245), in career three-point shots made with 1,248, after hitting five threes in the win.
"It's a pretty special moment for my family. I'm sure he never dreamt of the day one of his sons would pass him," the reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) said about the feat, according to the Associated Press.
Along with Curry, Draymond Green also had a great performance against the Nets, tallying another triple-double 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists, also having two steals and four blocks.
Iguodala, who salvaged the game for Golden State, finished with 15 points, six rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
The Warriors played without one half of the Splash Brothers, guard Klay Thompson, who was suffering from a back injury, according to ESPN.
Golden State still sits atop the Western Conference standings with its immaculate 11–0 record and will continue the home stand when the Toronto Raptors visit at the Oracle Arena this Tuesday.
Meanwhile, for the Nets, veteran point guard Jarrett Jack led the charge with 28 points, four rebounds, nine assists, and two steals.
Assisting him was forward Thaddeus Young who had a double-double 26 points and 10 rebounds, with three assists and three steals.
The Nets are now 1–9 and will try to improve their record when they host the Atlanta Hawks this Tuesday.
