The Foot Locker Three-Point contest title remains in Oakland, but this time it is not Stephen Curry who will bring it home, as he was defeated by fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson last Saturday.
Like last season's competition, it was again Thompson and Curry who outlasted their fellow shooters to compete in the championship round.
However, this time Thompson outscored Curry, having 27 points in the final round, while the reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) only tallied 23 points.
After the shootout, Thompson credited Curry and said, according to ESPN, "You know, I've never been on a team with someone who shoots it better than me, so it's a privilege to work with him every day. He makes me that much better."
Phoenix Suns rookie guard Devin Booker came up short and was third in his first three-point contest.
Other participants were the Houston Rockets' James Harden, Milwaukee Bucks' Khris Middleton, Portland Trail Blazers C.J. McCollum, Los Angeles Clippers' J.J. Redick, and the Toronto Raptors' Kyle Lowry.
Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh was originally listed as a participant but withdrew, even from the All-Star Game, because of a lingering calf injury.
In the other competitions during All-Star Saturday, Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Karl-Anthony Towns won the new version of the Taco Bell Skills Challenge.
Towns defeated Boston Celtics All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas to win the championship.
Meanwhile, in the Verizon Slam Dunk contest, another Timberwolves shone as guard Zach LaVine defended the title he won last year.
In what many believe is the greatest slam dunk contest in a long time, LaVine outshone the Orlando Magic's Aaron Gordon to again be declared as the slam dunk king.
The two showed their athleticism and pulled off innovative dunks to stun the crowd and the panel of judges that featured the likes of Magic Johnson and Shaquille O'Neal.
