Golden State Warriors rumors 2016: Draymond Green achieves rare feat with triple-double performance versus Hornets

Before Tuesday's win over the Los Angeles Lakers, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Charlotte Hornets Monday in a game that made forward Draymond Green the only other Warriors player in franchise history to have three straight triple-doubles.

In the win over Charlotte, Green tallied 13 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists that came along with one steal and two blocks in 37 minutes of action.

Green joins Tom Gola who achieved the same feat while playing for the Warriors in 1959–60.

"Oh man, it was hard to come by. When you start looking for it, it's impossible to get," Green said, according to ESPN

Green's teammate, reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) point guard Stephen Curry, complimented him and stated in ESPN's report, "He's playing at a very, very high level. His consistency is just off the charts. ... It's amazing how he can impact the game."

Unfortunately, Green was unable to make it four straight triple-doubles in their win over the Lakers as he only had nine points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and one block.

However, the Warriors' recent success captured versus Los Angeles gives them the best 35-game start in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA), with now a 33–2 record.

Golden State's win was not all good as Curry, who has been dealing with a leg injury in the past few games, was limping after a drive to the basket in the third quarter.

Curry left the game, checked back in, then headed to the locker room and never returned, finishing with 17 points and six assists in 26 minutes of action against the Lakers.

The Warriors continue their great season as the 33–2 record is still the best in the Western Conference and in the NBA.

Following the successful win at Staples Center, the Warriors continue their three-game Western Conference road trip this Friday taking on the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center.
