"Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" will not be welcoming back Horde mode when it is officially released.

News about the popular Horde mode not being made part of the game was announced at Comic-Con. According to "Gears of War" co-creator, The Coalition Rod Ferguson, the decision was made to omit Horde mode for various reasons, the main one being the prevention of the new game from veering too much into the territory of "Gears of War 2."

Ferguson also indicated that enemies within the original "Gears of War" game itself were preventing them from moving forward with the inclusion of Horde mode, according to Polygon.

According to Ferguson, the first game from the franchise is lacking a variety of enemies for the players to take down, making any kind of Horde mode included in the game limited in comparison.

Despite the lack of Horde mode, "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" is still expected to include a lot of new content for fans to enjoy. On top of all the already announced additions for the game such as bonus story content and even some new artwork, "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" is also expected to take some gameplay elements from other games in the franchise, such as the enemy spotting mechanic first introduced in "Gears of War 3."

In related news, Microsoft has also announced plans to release a "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" bundle for the Xbox One, according to IGN. The bundle will be available only at selected retailers and will cost $349.

The entire "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" bundle will include a digital copy of the game, a 500GB Xbox One console, a wireless controller, a Superstar Cole multiplayer skin, a two-week Xbox Live trial and perhaps best of all for devoted fans of the franchise, exclusive access to the "Gears of War 4" multiplayer beta.

"Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" will be available starting August 25.
